Weight Loss Requires Good Food Nutrition

Weight loss is possible if you are willing to change some of your eating habits and make a few adjustments in your lifestyle. You won’t lose weight if you persist in eating junk food such as pastries, cookies, cakes or other fattening foods. These choices are loaded with fat, sugar, and empty calories but short on food nutrition.

You must learn what good food nutrition is all about. This means knowing which foods are healthy, which foods will help you lose weight, and which foods will prevent you from losing weight. Make it your business to know the nutritional value of what you eat.

Nutritional food must form the foundation of your diet. It is not only okay to occasionally splurge on a favorite treat, it can do wonders for your metabolism and morale. If you structure your life too rigidly, you can set yourself up for failure. Give yourself a psychological lift by being flexible enough to allow occasional indulges so you aren’t driven to undermine your progress by cheating.

Food Choices for Success

Nutritional food includes fresh, wholesome things like fruits, vegetables, dairy, lean meats or fish and other sources of protein. If you select your food nutrition from these sources and get regular exercise, you will make those pounds disappear.

Food nutrition requires the knowledge needed to make wise choices when selecting your meals. You must learn to make healthy food nutrition choices whether you are shopping for meals at home, eating out at restaurants, or having a meal at a friend or relative’s house. You need to learn the difference between nutritional food and empty calories.

Exercise

Weight loss can be understood as a simple formula: you must burn more calories than you consume. Food nutrition not only furnishes your body with the building blocks needed for good health, it supplies the fuel required for energy.

It is not unlike filling your car’s tank with gasoline; you wouldn’t expect it to run without fuel. If you fill the tank with inferior fuel, your car will not run efficiently. When you tank up on high fat, sugary foods, you are giving your body inferior fuel by giving it more calories than it can use with little nutritional value. Your body converts surplus calories to fat. Quality food nutrition supplies the body with beneficial nutrients while providing fuel for energy.

Regular exercise is needed to burn off those extra calories.  A daily 30-45 minute walk can help you burn off one or two pounds each week, an ideal rate for healthy weight loss. Losing more than a couple of pounds a week can sacrifice the nutritional benefits needed for good health.

Gradual Progress

Weight loss needs to be seen as a gradual process. You learn nothing from crash diets that fall short of good food nutrition and set you up for failure. Rapid weight loss more often than not results in regaining whatever is lost or more.

Introducing gradual change gives you the opportunity to learn how to give your body better food nutrition and regular exercise. Relax and enjoy the journey to better health. The weight will steadily disappear as you consistently make better food choices and make exercise a regular part of your new lifestyle.
